A US Postal Service employee fatally shot two co-workers at a Memphis mail facility Tuesday before turning the gun on himself, the FBI said.
The rampage happened at the East Lamar Carrier Annex, a sorting facility in a residential neighborhood that does not serve customers, according to WREG.
Federal law enforcement officials did not reveal the identities of the victims or the suspect and were looking into a motive.
Family members on the scene said James Wilson, a manager at the facility, was one of the workers who was shot dead, the station said.
“The Postal Service is saddened at the events that took place today in Memphis,” USPS said in a statement.
“Our thoughts are with the family members, friends and coworkers of the individuals involved. The Postal Service will be providing resources to all employees at the East Lamar Carrier Annex in the coming days and weeks.”
The attack comes after a teenager killed eight people and injured several others at an Indianapolis FedEx facility before taking his own life. Officials found the former employee was able to buy firearms despite being previously detained for a mental health incident.
